Forum Title: Copper vs. Aluminum frame velux skylights?
I live in southeast NY with a typical shingled gable roof (high ranch). I'm going to be getting the deck-mounted Velux FS-S06 (roughly 45x45) with EDL step flashing. Costs around $520 for the aluminum framed version. For the copper frame (and flashing) version, it's another $350 or so on top of that... Why would I choose the copper over the aluminum version? Is the copper for a special type of installation or if it's going to be a visual eyepiece or something? Not quite sure I get it... Thanks!

This place has the most comprehensive catalog I've ever seen. AAA Here's the link to patio door handles...theres a lot of them.

What gunguy said. The aluminum has a baked on finish, so not bare aluminum. I would bet it will outlast you. And very little of the flashing actually shows. As he suggests, it might be a mine is better than yours type thing with copper. Besides, do you know it takes years for copper to take on that green look??? By the time it gets that look, it is time to replace the skylight.
